In 1851 in a town called Christiana, Pennsylvania the first shots of the Civil War were fired. It would be a further nine years before armies of the North faced armies of the South on a field of battle. But the lines were drawn early on September morning in a small town across the border from the Slave State of Maryland. What happens when Laws are unjust? What happens when men refuse to obey an unjust law? And what happens when some men decide to fight back? Dork Time Radio went to Christiana to find out. The story is fascinating and exciting and its echoes can still be heard to this day. Join host Sab Grey and guests Philip J. Merrill and Dolores Colon as we explore this largely forgotten act of resistance.
